I’ve never been a big fan of the ultra-touristy locations. Especially in the city which I grew up in. However when Nat threw it out there, that we should head down to the Sydney Fish Markets for some fresh sashimi for lunch, she had me hook, line and sinker! The place (as you can imagine) was pure chaos, with tourists, sydneysiders, fishermen and fishy merchants crammed in together like a mosh pit at Big Day Out. There were even seagulls swooping down, mid air and snatching chips off peoples plates while they were trying to find a seat…
Nevertheless it was a great experience, and an even greater people watching expedition. If you like your seafood and don’t mind a crowd, you’ll love this place.
Here are a few shots from the Sydney Fish Markets.
